Statistics: GDP growth revised upwards to 0.9% in Q4 2018

The National Statistics Institute (INS) has revised to 0.9%, up against 0.7%, the GDP growth, in real terms, in the fourth quarter of 2018.

The figures on Monday reveal that the GDP growth for 2018 was of 4.1%, but the value as gross series has been revised upwards to RON 944.22 billion in current prices, up against RON 940.477 billion as the provisional figures on March 7 showed.

In Q4 2018 the GDP growth was of 4.1% as gross series against Q4 2017 and of 4% as seasonally adjusted series.

The figures released on March 7 reveal that the economic growth last year was registered due to the increase in households’ consumption by 5.2%, with a contribution of 3.3% to GDP growth.
