In a report delivered by Transport Minister Razvan Cuc to PM Sorin Grindeanu about Tarom operations and its financial situation, it is also included the programme for renewing the fleet.
“We presented the financial data about Tarom, the revitalization strategy and the programme to renew the fleet. (…) The Tarom management and the representatives of the Ministry of Transport negotiated with Airbus and Embraer representatives and a final meeting with Boeing officials is expected. We will buy four aircraft this year, in three months at the most the first two aircraft will arrive,” Minister Răzvan Cuc said for capital.ro.
Currently, the Tarom management analyzes the offers received from major aircraft manufacturers and the leasing companies in the field. “Tarom started in early February a procedure aimed at the acquisition of two aircraft in dry lease. At this point the procedure is in the stage of bid evaluation,” a Transport Ministry release informs.
