Unemployment rate – up to 4% in April
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has soared to 4% in April, up by 0.1 percentage points against the previous month (3.9%), the National Statistics Institute (INS) informs on Tuesday.
The number of unemployed (aged 15-74) estimated in April 2019 was of 354,000 persons, up against the previous month (347,000), down against the same month last year (395,000).
By gender, the unemployment rate for men was by 0.8 percentage points higher than for women (4.3% against 3.5%).
The adult people (aged 25-74) the unemployment rate was estimated at 3.1% in April (3.5% for men and 2.7% for women).
The number of unemployed aged 25-74 represents 73.7% of the total number of unemployed estimated in April 2019.
