Romanian President Klaus Iohannis (R) has met Thursday with a World Bank delegation led by Executive Director of the Board Frank Heemskerk (L), the presidential administration said in a statement.
During the meeting they discussed the current and future partnership between Romania and the World Bank Group. They also tackled issues on strengthening cooperation, particularly in the area of economic policies and corporate governance and on using WB’s expertise to implement structural reforms and increasing EU funds absorption rate.
„In this respect, Romania has expressed its interest and readiness to support the idea of establishing a World Bank regional office in Bucharest for policies and governance within public sector. For the World Bank Group, Romania continues to be one of the most important partners in Central and Eastern Europe region,” the release reads.
