According to a company announcement, ABL, a member of the energy and maritime consulting group ABL Group has established a new office in Constanța, Romania. This office aims to bolster support for offshore energy and maritime markets in the Black Sea region.

As per a statement from the company, ABL, affiliated with the energy and maritime consulting group ABL Group and listed on the Oslo stock exchange, has inaugurated a new office in Constanța, Romania. This initiative seeks to enhance assistance for the offshore energy and maritime sectors in the Black Sea region.

“I understood that it is very important for ABL to be present in Romania. ABL has been at the forefront of supporting major Black Sea energy development projects, including Romania’s first offshore oil and gas project in 35 years, the Midia gas development project. The launch of ABL Romania reinforces our commitment to the safe and sustainable delivery and operation of the country’s oil and gas infrastructure, while expanding our diversified engineering and consulting offering to support Romania’s transition to a net-zero future,” said Ian Cummins, ABL Regional Managing Director for Europe and West Africa.

“Romania is an important market for the development of renewable energy in the Black Sea. In addition to having favorable natural resource potential, its government recognizes the critical importance of diversifying its energy mix for both national and international energy security. Therefore, it has developed support policies for the development of renewable energy. Considering that wind, photovoltaic, solar, CCUS and hydrogen are actively being looked at, we have the necessary services and experience to support Romania in its net zero ambitions”, said RV Ahilan, Chief Energy Transition Officer at ABL Group.
