OBI, one of Europe’s largest DIY retailers, has officially confirmed its participation in the European Digital Commerce (EDC), organized by VTEX and Amazon Web Services, on 18 November, at Nord Events.

With revenues of €82 billion in 2023 and 645 stores across 10 countries, the German retailer will share its experiences in digital transformation and the challenges traditional retailers face in adopting emerging technologies.

Earlier this year, OBI integrated its ecommerce channels, 349 physical stores across Germany, and third-party sellers into a single transactional platform with the help of VTEX.

OBI’s participation marks a significant step in expanding its ecommerce presence and aligning with global trends in retail digitalization. OBI will contribute to discussions on process automation, omnichannel strategies, and innovations in ecommerce, all of which are crucial for meeting the growing expectations of modern consumers.

Other prominent speakers will join the stage from renowned companies such as KFC, Stanley Black & Decker, Decathlon, Sport Time, Electrolux, Amazon Web Services, VTEX, ITGlobers, XPert Beauty, Innobyte, and Zitec, among many others. Additionally, the well-known actor and director Horațiu Mălăele will participate in an exclusive fireside chat.

This fall’s must-attend commerce event will gather hundreds of participants and dozens of speakers from India to the U.S. This year’s edition is set to be the most ambitious and comprehensive to date.

Access to the event is free for FMCG retailers, with limited availability. Registered online participants will enjoy full access to the event archive and resources from the European digital commerce community until May 6, 2025. They will also be able to explore Networking and Expo areas, interact with other participants, and exchange virtual business cards, delivered via email.
