Allegro Online Services Romania, owner of OLX Romania (OLX.ro), the biggest local online classifieds, launched on Wednesday Storia, a site exclusively dedicated to selling houses, apartments, lands or commercial spaces, warehouses and halls.
In its turn, Allegro Online Services Romania is owned by South African group Naspers.
The new launched site also includes a section on residential ensembles.
Storia.ro is part of OLX’s solution for this field, in addition to OLX Imobiliare (Real Estate category) and CRM AtlaStock that facilitates access to both platforms.
Classifieds posted on OLX’s new launched site offers extra information compared to OLX’s real estate section, so the search process to be more relevant.
Each property is accompanied by a complete map of the area that contains the nearest points of interest such as hospitals, pharmacies, shops, schools and playgrounds. The site allows users to add a larger number of photos (up to 20), videos presentation and virtual tours of the listed properties.
“From the ongoing dialogue that we have had in the last year, both real estate agencies and OLX users looking for a home, we realize that there were needs that we did not fully cover, such as the best quality of ads or the possibility to conduct advanced searches within the website. The decision to launch Storia and to offer a complete solution to specialists on the real estate market comes so naturally,” Cristina Gheorghitoiu, General Manager Naspers Classifieds Romania stated in a press conference.
OLX Imobiliare section remains affordable for private sellers who benefit from three free ads every 30 days.
Real estate agencies can post an ad on OLX at a starting price of EUR 0.95, by choosing an existing package. Agencies can also choose to place ads exclusively on Storia, at the cost of EUR 3.99 for each add. The integrated version, which provides access to all three platforms – OLX, Storia and AtlaStock – has a starting price of EUR 0.30 per add.
According to its own estimates, OLX would hold 50 percent of the online real estate classifieds market. Company officials did not disclose the amount of investment in Storia.ro, saying that payback will be achieved “in a year or two”.
Storia platform is launched in beta and is available on both the desktop and mobile apps made for iOS and Android.
“We rely on the experience we have on the local market with Autovit.ro, the website dedicated exclusively to the auto market, but also on regional experience in managing real estate ads platforms in countries such as Poland and Portugal,” Cristina Gheorghitoiu added.
