France Telecom’s revenues in the Central European countries rose 2.9 percent in the 4th quarter of 2015 on a comparable basis.
The revenues of its subsidiary Orange Romania reached to EUR 947 million last year, up by 4.2 percent compared to 2014, of which EUR 250 million in the last quarter, a press release informs.
Total revenues in Romania were up 7.4 percent in the 4th quarter, led by the increase in mobile services and, to a lesser extent, by higher mobile equipment sales and fixed television services.
“2015 was a successful year for Orange Romania, among which were the premieres on both the local market and at a group level. 2016 is expected to be as dynamic, market trends showing an increased appetite for 4G, for access to entertainment on all types of screens, increased interest in converged services and the prepaid service users’ switch to subscriptions,” Jean-Francois Fallacher, CEO Orange Romania said.
At end-2015, Orange had 10.177 million customers, the number of subscribers increasing by 4 percent compared to the same period last year. The number of television services customers in Romania (275,000 at 31 December 2015) rose 75.4 percent in one year.
Orange remains the 4G leader in Romania, covering 72 percent of the population and deploying 4G+ (13 cities covered at the end of December 2015).
