Orange Romania – turnover of EUR 242 M in Q2, 2020

Orange Group has announced the financial results for the second quarter of 2020, available on June 30.

Therefore, during April-June, Orange Romania has posted a turnover of EUR 242 million, down by 10pc compared to the same period last year. The negative evolution is prompted by the significant decline of equipment sales and by a moderate decrease of the services revenues amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

On June 30, 2020, Orange Romania provided fixed, mobile and TV services for 10, 540,600 customers, down by 1.8% as against the Q2 2019.

On B2B segment, the Q2 reported a 22pc increase of the revenues from fixed internet, while the Money Orange service reported record transactions, exceeding 1 million in the Q2, five times more than in Q2 2019.

“The first six months of this year have been among the most difficult ones in the past decade, where connectivity has become essential both for consumer clients and also for the company customers. They taught us an important lesson though, that we can do things better, digitally. The need for digital transformation prompted by the pandemic was the engine of some radical changes, partially anticipated, partially imposed by the economic and social context. The digital solutions, online transactions and digital payments have registered the strongest evolution, an increase even up to five times higher, as it is the case of transactions via Orange Money“, said Liudmila Climoc, CEO Orange Romania.
