Orange Romania’s turnover in Q4 of 2017, up by 7.7 pc yoy

During October – December 2017, Orange Romania registered a turnover of EUR 280 million, up by 7.7 percent compared to the similar period of the previous year, a press release informs.

The total turnover for 2017 stood at EUR 1.07 billion. The increase was mainly driven by the positive evolution of the use of mobile data, fixed-mobile packages and mobile equipment sales. On December 31, 2017, Orange Romania offered mobile, fixed and TV services to 10,623,000 customers.

”2017 was a year in which the digitalization process has accelerated, highlighted by the growing consumption of mobile data and connected devices for both residential and business environment,” Liudmila Climoc, CEO Orange Romania stated.

The 4G network covered 93.2 percent of Romania’s population, meaning 10,026 localities, where 3.2 million Orange customers used Orange 4G services, nearly 50 percent more than at the end of 2016. This development was also found in data traffic mobile that grew by over 80 percent compared with Q4 2016 as well as in the 4G traffic, which increased 3 times.

These results were also influenced by sales of 4G mobile phones which grew by 14 percent in Q4 2017 compared to Q4 2016. Due to the 4G network expansion and the accessibility of high performance phones, over 720,000 Orange customers chose to use 4G call in 2017.

At end-December, Orange Home TV, cable and satellite service in Romania, numbered 398,000 customers, up nearly 20 percent over last year. Fixed broadband services had over 187,000 subscribers, up 60 percent.
