Over 1,500 tons of wool was collected since the sheep shearing season began in Sibiu and Constanta counties, following the wool trade support program, a press release of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) informs.

Of these, 1,100 tons were exported to Turkey, India, China and Italy.

About 32,000 farmers have joined the wool trade support program started by MADR, with an estimated total quantity of about 23,000 tons.

RON 1 per kilo is the subsidy value for the wool sold to a collection centre or a wool processing unit.
