Over EUR 2 bn deficit in international trade with pharmaceutical, medical products

Romania registered last year a deficit of EUR 2.08 billion in international trade with medical and pharmaceutical products, National Institute of Statistics (INS) data reveals.

Exports totaled EUR 721.4 million, down by 17.6 percent than in 2015, while imports increased by 5.4 percent year-on-year, to EUR 2.806 billion.

In 2016, Romania’s FOB exports totaled EUR 57.386 billion and increased by 5.1 percent over the previous year and CIF imports totaled EUR 67.344 million, up by 7 percent.

FOB-CIF trade deficit stood at EUR 9.958 billion, up by EUR 1.592 billion than in 2015.
