The Banker: UniCredit, the ‘Bank of the Year’ in Romania

UniCredit received from The Banker the ‘Bank of the Year’ award in Romania, Bosnia Herzegovina and Germany, a press release informs.

“These prestigious awards reconfirm the Group’s achievements and the effort of the people throughout the organization. It would not have been possible without the involvement of our employees and without the loyalty of our customers, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure we offer award-winning products and services,” Gianni Franco Papa, General Manager UniCredit stated.

A publication of the Financial Times Newspaper, The Banker Magazine is a global financial intelligence magazine that provides global bank ratings/analysis and it is the definitive reference in international banking for high level decision makers globally.

The Banker award’s ‘Bank of the Year Awards’ are widely regarded as the Oscars of the Banking Industry. For 90 years, The Banker has been the world’s leading monthly journal of record for the banking industry. 

The organisers note that the aim of the awards programme is to highlight industry wide excellence within the global banking community.

The Banker selects one winning bank for each of the 120 countries that are covered. Over 1,000 applications entered and judges select winning banks based on the ones that have made most progress over the past 12 months.

“In a market characterized by opportunities but also by strong competition and by a volatile business, fiscal and regulatory environment, we managed to be the number one bank in the Corporate area relying on digitalization, innovation and simplifying operations. (…),” Rasvan Radu, CEO UniCredit Bank also commented.
