Regina Maria, one of the largest private health care network in Romania, continues the network expansion for this year too, the first two months marking the acquisition of two clinics in Bucharest (IXIA Medica) and Ploiesti (Al-Medica Berlin), as well as the opening of a medical center in downtown Bucharest (Victoriei Square). According to a press release, the total investment exceeded EUR 2 million.
The company is in talks for other purchases and prepares the launch of a new clinic in Dorobanti area, Bucharest.
Last year, the company expanded its network with six medical centers in Pitesti, Craiova, Targu Mures and Timisoara.
“2016 was for Regina Maria a transactions year. Just by entering the Ponderas Academic Hospital Network we marked one of the most important such transactions in the private medical services market. In the last years, Regina Maria was involved in 13 transactions with full takeover of other players, as well as in 3 transactions that targeted company’s ownership changing – the largest in the medical services market. We still have an appetite for acquisitions, we look at more deals and we are open to other opportunities for expansion. We analyze all the possible purchases with the utmost seriousness,” Fady Chreih, CEO Regina Maria, stated.
Regina Maria’ s turnover last year exceeded EUR 90 million and the target for 2017 is an increase of almost 15 percent to EUR 110 million.
In a nutshell, Regina Maria means 35 own locations, 4 hospitals, 2 maternities, 8 campuses medical, 11 imaging centers, 15 test laboratories, an own stem cells bank and over 180 partner multi-speciality clinics throughout the country.
