The French carmaker Renault decided to relocate Logan Break MCV production line, currently in Pitesti, to Morocco, as of 2017, Jean-François Gal, director of Renault Tangier unit says, quoted by usinenouvelle.com.

He explained that the relocation of Dacia / Renault Logan Break MCV production will require additional investment of about EUR 20 million.

Moreover, in this respect, Renault hired 600 people this summer at its plant in Tangiers.

Renault officials in Romania did not want to comment on the issue.

Renault’s plant in the Moroccan city of Tangier – where Sandero, Lodgy and Dokker models are already manufactured – estimates for 2017 a total production of 300,000 vehicles, including Logan MCV.

In 2015, at Renault’s unit in Mioveni were produced 40,000 Logan MCV, representing over 10 percent of the total production.

The plant in Tangier of the French carmaker is gaining more and more contracts thanks to the extremely low production costs and a favorable geographical position for deliveries to Western Europe
