Romania-based Bitdefender expands to Australia

Bitdefender, the world known cybersecurity-technology company, founded and owned by Romanian IT entrepreneur Florin Talpes, which protects 500 million users worldwide, is expanding on the Australian market, by taking over SMS eTech partner and is opening an office in Melbourne.

The Romanian cybersecurity-technology producer has made this move as part of the global expansion strategy of the business, reported.

Bitdefender’s recent acquisition is strengthening the company’s position in the Asia-Pacific region and worldwide, by setting up its own Bitdefender subsidiaries in Australia. SMS eTechis distributing Bitdefender products in Australia and New Zealand.

In November last year, Romania-based security software company Bitdefender relocated the production of the second generation of Bitdefender Box from China to a factory in Satu Mare.

In December last year, Vitruvian Partners, the independent European private equity firm, acquired a significant minority stake of approximately 30 percent in Bitdefender.
