Romania exported footwear worth EUR 1.11bn in the first 10 months of 2016

Romania exported in the first ten months of 2016 footwear worth EUR 1.113 billion, by 1.3% less than in the same period of 2015, data centralized by the National Statistics Institute (INS) informs.

Footwear imports amounted to EUR 649.3 million, by 15.2% higher as compared to January-October 2015, thus registering a surplus of EUR 464.4 million in this segment.

According to the Department of Foreign Trade, the total international trade of Romania in the first 10 months of 2016 exceeded EUR 103.43 billion, up by 5.3% against the first ten months of 2015, exports increased to EUR 47.767 billion (+4.1%), while imports increased to EUR 55.67 billion (+6.4%).

In these circumstances, Romania’s trade deficit increased by 23.2%, from EUR 6.414 billion (on October 31, 2015) to EUR 7.904 billion (on October 31, 2016).
