Romania reconfirms its position as main trading partner of Republic of Moldova in 2015, the volume of bilateral exchanges in the field reaching to USD 1.352 billion, a release of Romanian diplomatic mission in Chisinau informs.
Domestic goods export amounted to USD 820 million, while imports from R. of Moldova to USD 532 million. The balance of bilateral trade transactions stood to USD 288 million, in Romania’s favor, the doscument also reads.
Mineral products have the largest share in the volume of exported goods in Moldova, of over 35 percent, followed by machinery, appliances and technical equipment – with over 21 percent of the total. The main categories of purchased goods in Moldova are machinery, appliances and technical equipment (43 percent), as well as common metals and metal products (over 20 percent).
At end-December 2015, Moldova ranked the 4th to export in Romania’s trade with non-EU countries and the 8th at import. At the same time, 4,673 joint ventures with Moldovan stake were registered in Romania, with an invested capital of USD 47.96 million.
