Romanian companies provided a quarter of Ukraine’s gasoline imports in 2023, with two-thirds of the fuel exported from Romania coming from the region’s leading company, OMV Petrom.

Romania provided 25% of the total volume of gasoline imports, followed by Greece (22%), Poland (21%) and the Baltic countries (13%), according to the consulting company A-95.

In 2023, 1.249 million tons of gasoline were imported into Ukraine, the same amount as in 2022 and 4% less than in 2021.

For the second consecutive year, Romania ranks first in the supply of gasoline to Ukraine, where it exported 310 thousand tons of fuel. Deliveries were made by road, rail and sea transport. The main volumes, 90% of the total imports from Romania, were shipped by rail.

Two thirds of the gasoline exported by Romania to Ukraine, 206 thousand tons, was produced at the Petrobrazi refinery of OMV Petrom.

Unicom Oil Terminal in Constanța ranks second: 32,000 tons of gasoline. Rompetrol Rafinare has halved its gasoline exports to Ukraine compared to 2022.
