Romania was the main supplier of ski boots for the other EU countries in 2016, Eurostat, shows. According to the statistical office of the European Union, 27 percent of ski boats exported intra-community come from Romania.
At the same time, Denmark provided 68 percent of Christmas trees for EU member states, while 36 percent of Christmas candles came from Poland. Germany was the main supplier of chocolates and toy trains, while France was the main supplier of wine and turkeys.
Finnish group Amer, one of the world’s leading sports equipment manufacturers, collaborates with five factories in Romania with a total of 2,100 employees, manufacturing boots and bindings for skis. For example, all the ski boots marketed under the Salomon brand are made in Romania.
