The Romanian and United Arab Emirates governments have concluded a strategic economic partnership during the Romanian Prime Minister’s visit to this state. The partnership provides cooperation opportunities, the Government in Bucharest announces.
„The document underlines the major regional role that the UAE, next to Romania’s membership to the European Union, which provide important cooperation opportunities by developing common initiatives for both parties (…) in such sectors as: commerce, investments, agricultura, financial-banking, energy, transports and infrastructure, IT and blockchain technology, as well as education, culture, research-innovation, tourism, youth and sports,” reads the Gov’t press release.
The statement also mentions the need to adopt in the near future of an Action Plan to set the concrete stes that the two government will take to enforce the Strategic Economic Partnership.
„Romania enjoys a long tradition of cooperation with the UAE, which is the main commercia partner of Romania in the Gulf area. There is a real collaboration potential between the two states in niche sectors such as the Information Technology and Communications, renewable energy, environment protection, real estate and tourism,” the Executive further says.
PM Viorica Dancila has paid a three-day visit this week to Turkey, UAE and Kuwait.
During the previous days of her visit, PM Dancila has asked the companies in the UAE to take part in the investments projects in Romania through the public-private partnerships. The Romanian mass media commented that the Executive in Bucharest has vowed to start several major infrastructure projects through the public-private partnership procedure, despite Romania can access European funds for that.
According to a previous Government’s press release, “PM Viorica Dancila pointed out that the United Arab Emirates have an important potential of absorbing Romanian products and can become significant providers of investments in fields of interest for the Romanian economy. The Romanian official has also encouraged the UAE companies to take part in the public tenders organized by the Romanian authorities for projects financed through the operational programmes, but also to get involved in investment projects in public-private partnership,” reads the Gov’t release.
PM wears Islamic outfit during visit to mosque in Abu Dhabi
Romanian PM Viorica Dancila has worn Islamic clothes during the visit she paid at Sheikh Zayed mosque in Abu Dhabi, which is the largest place of worship in the United Arab Emirates, being able to host more than 41,000 people, Emirates News Agency reported.
PM Dancila has laid a wreath at the Heroes Monument in Abu Dhabi and has also met the director of the General Union of Women in the UAE, Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi.
