Romanian Lottery general manager resigns
The general manager of the Romanian Lottery National Company, Ovidiu Portariuc, has resigned on Wednesday. “I cannot go on in this position anymore for strictly personal reasons”, he said.
The resigning manager explained that his mandate acquired in 2017 had been a temporary one, which had the target of “stabilizing the Romanian lottery financially and implementing a new lottery system”.
Portariuc said that both goals had been achieved and that the company had ended 2018 with a growing profit up by 40% as against 2017, which brought EUR 10 million to the state budget.
The Government adopted an emergency ordinance draft last week proposing that the Romanian Lottery should be part of the future sovereign development and investment fund.
