LifeBox, the Romanian start-up operating on the local healthy food delivery market, is expanding for the first time abroad. Thus, starting this month, the service will be available in Budapest, Hungary, under the FrissBox brand.
The three founders of the company, Radu Balaceanu, Florin Scarlat and Lukasz Kuzniar, estimate an investment of approx. 300,000 euros this year for the expansion of the operations in Budapest and anticipate that FrissBox will reach a turnover of 5 million euros by the end of 2023.
FrissBox will have a local delivery team. Also, a Customer Care department is currently developing in Hungary.
FrissBox offers customers in Budapest the same range of menus from LifeBox’s portfolio, which will be adapted according to local specifics, with the support of two specialists: Chef Dani Sass, a well-known Hungarian culinary figure, and Veronika Volher, member of the Hungarian Institute of Public Health, specialized in preventive and sports nutrition, and obesity.
“We like things outside the box, so we thought: why not outside the borders. Our decision and desire to launch the LifeBox concept across borders has been around for some time. We were going to take the first steps in this direction last year, but, considering the pandemic context, we decided to postpone the launch for this year, which materialized. We chose Budapest because we see a real potential in the Hungarian market, where the concept of healthy eating is as popular as in Romania and through this expansion we hope to help as many people as possible to achieve their goals, whether it is to lose weight or maintain a healthy lifestyle, ”said LifeBox co-founders.
The new name of FrissBox has been adapted to the local context, friss meaning fresh, but the business concept will remain the same. Also, the entire part of design, communication and brand archetype will be further coordinated by the LifeBox team in Bucharest.
The FrissBox menus are already available for pre-order through the website www.frissbox.hu, and the first deliveries will be made starting June 21, 2021.
