Romanians are most confident in the future of electric transport, 68 percent of those surveyed anticipating that electric vehicles will be in top buying preferences in the upcoming decade, according to the results of a new E.ON survey.
At the opposite are Germans, only 36 percent betting on such an increase of plug-in cars. Swedens are also less optimistic, in a proportion of 33 percent.
Overall, almost half of all Europeans believe electric cars will outnumber conventional vehicles within a decade.
The survey, which questioned around 8,000 people from across eight countries, also reveals that 43 percent of Germans predict more than half of the energy produced in 2027 will come from renewable sources, followed by Turkey (39 percent), Sweden (35 percent) and the UK (31 percent). Also, 29 percent of Romanians estimate that most of the energy produced in the country will be renewable. Less confident are the Czechs (18 percent) and the Hungarians (17 percent).
At the same time, 35 percent of Turkish people questioned are convinced that robots will be running households in 10 years. Romanians are well in this forecasts chapter also, 31 percent of them seeing as very likely the presence of robots in their homes in this time horizon. Instead, only 18 percent of respondents in the UK and only 17 percent of survey participants in Hungary can imagine how, not long after, the robots will clean their windows, cook them or wash their laundry.
These results are part of the “Living in Europe” poll, where E.ON and Kantar EMNID surveyed about 8,000 people in Germany, the UK, Italy, the Czech Republic, Romania, Sweden, Turkey and Hungary in December 2016.
