The amount spent by Romanians on online shopping amounted to EUR 2.5 billion in 2017, with an average transaction price of about EUR 60, according to a market survey released on Thursday by a specialized agency in online marketing.
According to the quoted source, this year 61% of Romanian Internet users preferred to buy online products, while 34% of them still go shopping in offline stores.
In this context, the smart phone has caught up the desktop when it comes to purchasing options with 27% of preferences.
“On the mobile phone or on the mobile phone , the Romanians have bought online in 2017 and paid more and more by card, about EUR 1 billion. The main products bought were IT&C and Fashion, but the Home&Deco segment is also going well – an average spending of RON 474. In 2017, the average value of a transaction was of about EUR 60,” the conclusions of the survey read.
As source of information, 35% of the Romanian buyers first learned about the product they were interested in online, and 34% on television.
