Used car registrations have reached to 253,306 units in Romania in the first six months of the year, up 86.64 percent over the same period in 2016, when were 135,722 units, the Directorate for Driving Licenses and Vehicle Registration (DRPCIV) shows.
For this June, second-hand car registrations recorded a leap of over 61 percent year-on-year, to 39,988 units. During January – June 2017, most of the cars registered were Volkswagen (66.122 units, + 72.37 percent over the first six months of the previous year).
It follows Opel (32,139 units + 44.05 percent), Ford (25,375 units, + 63.11 percent), Audi (22,076 units, + 110.25 percent), BMW (22,033 units, + 111.41 percent), Mercedes- Benz (12,795 units + 139.47 percent), Renault (11,557 units, + 109.44 percent), Skoda (10,102 units + 51.14 percent), Peugeot (5.769 units, + 110.55 percent), Seat (4,789 units, + 75.55 percent).
On the opposite side, with the fewest used car registrations, are: Aston Martin, GWM and Lamborghini (three units each), Iveco, Acura, Morgan. Pontiac and Shuang Huan (two units each), respectively Lada-VAZ and Geely (one unit each).
On the other hand, according to DRPCIV, in the first six months of 2017, there was an increase of 26.95 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, to 45,008 units.
