During the initial quarter of the year, Romania’s Mioveni and Craiova factories produced over 152,000 vehicles, surpassing last year’s first-quarter output by 10,000 units. However, Dacia witnessed a decline in production.
Overall, Dacia’s production remains above Ford’s (almost 50% higher in terms of car volume), but in March the difference was much smaller.
In March 2024, 53,696 cars were produced in Romania, a decrease of 3% compared to March 2023, respectively 55,428 units. Of these, 28,602 units were produced in the Dacia plant in Mioveni and 25,094 units were produced in the Ford Otosan plant in Craiova.
In the first three months, automobile production stands at 152,912 units, an increase of 7% compared to the same period in 2023, i.e. 142,756 units.
Dacia production between January and March 2024 was 90,197 units. In the first quarter of last year it had been 93,286 units.
Ford-Otosan production between January and March 2024 was 62,715 units. In the first quarter of last year it had been 49,470 units.
