At end-2017, the national car fleet reached over 7,635 million units, up 8.91 percent over the previous year, the Directorate for Driving Licenses and Vehicle Registration (DRPCIV) shows.
Of the 7,635,775 registered vehicles at the national level, 1,320,230 were registered in Bucharest.
At the same time, the number of registered cars on end- December 2017 exceeded 1,057 million units also in Bucharest, most of them (304,172 units) in the ’11-15 year old’ category. Then it follows the cars older than 6-10 years (224,906 units) and those with over 20 years wear (161,835 units).
The number of new cars (0-2 years old) was in Bucharest at the end of 2017 at 153,442 units, down 14.23 percent compared to the end of the previous year, of which 118,178 were cars.
Also in Bucharest, 644,165 units with gasoline engines were registered, respectively 624,224 on diesel.
At national level, out of the total of 7,635,775 vehicles running on national roads at the end of last year, 5,996 million were cars, up 9.5 percent compared to the end of 2016, when 5.47 million units were registered.
