Romania’s exports remain robust in September, posting an increase of 6.7 pc

In January – September period, the FOB exports amounted to EUR 42677.8 million and the CIF imports amounted to EUR 49611.2 million, National Institute of Statistics (INS) data reveal. The commercial deficit was of EUR 6933.4 million, EUR 1392.8 million more than in the first nine months of last year.

Last September, the FOB exports were of EUR 5241.2 million and the CIF imports were of EUR 6028.0 million, a commercial deficit of EUR 786.8 million being registered.

Compared to September 2015, the exports increased by 6.7 percent and the imports increased by 6.5 percent in September 2016.

According to the same INS data, in the first nine months of the year, the Intra-community trade of goods (Intra-EU28) amounted to EUR 32111.5 million for dispatches and to EUR 38313.3 million for arrivals, representing 75.2 percent of the total exports and 77.2 percent of the total imports.

At the same time, the Extra-community trade of goods (Extra-EU28) amounted to EUR10566.3 million for exports and to EUR 11297.9 million for imports, representing 24.8 percent of the total exports and 22.8 percent of the total imports.

Important weights in the structure of exports and imports are represented by the following groups of goods: machinery and transport equipment (47.1 percent for export and 37.7 percent for import) and other manufactured goods (32.7 percent for export and 31.2 percent for import, respectively).
