Ruling party leader eyes law to sanction double standard on food

Chairman of the ruling Social Democrat Party, Liviu Dragnea, has announced in Suceava on Thursday that he will soon propose a draft bill to punish the double standard on foodstuff and to ban companies that bring low-ranking merchandise from operating on the local market.

“I will submit a draft bill to punish the double standards. If anyone can afford bringing low-ranking products than in their country they should pay, we have to take out these stores from the country. They have got used to sell anything for nothing for too long,” Dragnea stated.

It is not the first time the ruling party’s leader is referring to the products imported from abroad. In another previous trip in the country, Dragnea said that the chain of grocery stores must be recreated in Romania, so that the citizens should not be compelled to eat “all the Es”, while also pleading for Romania to stop exporting raw material such as wheat, and import waffles instead.
