Ireland-based Ryanair, the largest low-cost carrier in Europe, could be investigated by the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) at PM Dacian Ciolos requirement.
This comes after Romanian official was not able to pay for products in the local currency while tried to buy some products during the flight made on Thursday on Bucharest – Timisoara route, according to Gov’t spokesperson Liviu Iolu, agerpres.ro informs.
The cabin crew member said that only euros payments are accepted on the board.
Liviu Iolu added that PM Ciolos has also asked the ministries to analyze whether Ryanair has breached or not the legal framework in Romania.
In turn, the low-cost carrier replied in an official statement that currently Ryanair do not accept payments in Romania’s national currency for the products purchased on aircraft, but aims to improve every aspect of business, apologizing for any “inconvenience caused”.

Ryanair carries over 119 million passengers per year in more than 1,800 daily flights from 84 bases. The company connects 200 destinations from 33 countries
