Defence and security company Saab, a group established in Sweden in 1937, will open an office in Bucharest, profit.ro informs.
In Romania, Saab was one of the bidders attending the auction first term to upgrade King Ferdinand and Queen Maria frigates, a contract of RON 838 million, but the company has not been selected last year for the second stage. The procedure has not been completed so far, as the validity term of the tenders has already expired, although the SEAP procedure still appears to be ongoing.
Saab has also been in the past in the race for the acquisition of multilevel hunting jets for the Romanian Air Force.
