The favorable weather at end-2015, October-December 2015 period respectively, led to higher revenues by 25 percent for SABMiller in Romania y-o-y.
At the same time, the volumes of beverages sold on the domestic market increased by 20 percent, the company announced on Thursday in a press release.
SABMiller has reported double-digit growth in all segments in Romania and the success of the promotional campaign for the premium brand Ursus resulted in improving the revenue per hectolitre of beer.
SABMiller Revenues in Europe increased by 6 percent in October December 2015, while beverages volumes grew by 4 percent, according to the release. Worldwide, SABMiller reported a 7 percent advance in revenues over the 5 percent increase expected by the analysts.
In Romania, the company owns three breweries – Brasov, Buzau and Timisoara and a small capacity production line in Cluj – and 1,500 employees. Ursus Breweries portfolio includes several brands Romanian, such as: Ursus, Timisoreana, Ciucas, Stejar, Azuga, but also international brands Redd’s, Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Grolsch and Pilsner Urquell.
