Samsung Expands Presence in Romania with Launch of Construction Division

Samsung expands its presence in Romania, by launching the construction division. Samsung C&T Corporation, the construction division of the South Korean giant Samsung, with total business of over 36.8 billion dollars in 2023, entered Romania, according to data published in the Official Gazette.

Samsung C&T built the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the Petronas Towers and other famous buildings Samsung C&T Corporation Romania is fully owned by Samsung C&T Corporation Poland and was registered at the beginning of the year, with the object of activity “Construction works of residential and non-residential buildings”.

Established in 1938, Samsung C&T is a multibusiness company consisting of four independent business groups – Engineering & Construction, Trade & Investment, Fashion and Resort. It is present in 44 countries and has more than 9,000 employees. Samsung C&T recently built the world’s second tallest skyscraper, the Merdeka 118 (679 meters), which opened in January in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The tallest skyscraper is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (828 meters), which was also built by the company in 2009.

The group also built the Petronas Towers, which are 452 meters tall and were the tallest buildings in the world when completed in 1998. Other achievements include: the design for the world’s largest hydrogen storage tank liquefied in the world, Saudi Arabia Stock Exchange Tower, Tadawul Tower, South Korea Incheon International Airport. Its civil projects include the construction of roads, bridges, tunnels, ports, subways and dams. Notable projects include the Mersey Gateway in the United Kingdom, the Riyadh Metro in Saudi Arabia, the mountain tunnel construction contract for the Neom mega city project in Saudi Arabia.
