Selgros Cash&Carry Romania, important player on the domestic wholesale market, resumes expansion locally and bring a new concept store.
Part of Transgourmet Holding AG, the second largest chain of cash & carry and wholesale trade in Europe, the company acquired a land located downtown Targu Mures, where it will open a new store in early this summer, a press release informs on Thursday.
“With the opening of the new store, Selgros will introduce a new operating presentation, covering a sales area of 4,000 sqm,” the quoted document reads.
This would be the second store of cash & carry operator in Targu Mures.
“In the year when we celebrate 15 years of market presence, we restart the Selgros expansion with a new model of store. The resumption of sales growth in our network on all categories, and especially on gastro segment, confirms that we are competitive and a benchmark for quality, assortment, price and customer service,” Alexandru Vlad, CEO Selgros Cash&Carry Romania stated.
Selgros Cash & Carry chain, present in Romania since 2001, currently has 19 units in cities such as Bucharest, Brasov, Iasi, Targu Mures, Oradea, Cluj, Ploiesti, Timisoara, Craiova, Bacau, Galati, Braila, Arad, Suceava and Constanta.
Last year, the cash & carry operator extended its business on a new segment of services, launching its own delivery center dedicated exclusively to HoReCa customers (hotels, restaurants and bars) in Bucharest and surroundings, following an investment of EUR 4 million.
