Seven Romanian companies have entered Deloitte’s 2014 Technology Fast 500 for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) rankings, the program charting the fastest growing public and private technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences, and clean technology companies from over 20 countries, based on revenue growth over a five-year period. The seven Romanian companies have registered an average growth of 575 percent.

While six of the Romanian companies have initially applied for the regional CE Technology Fast 50 program announced in October this year, one has applied directly for the EMEA program: Bittnet System of Bucharest, ranking 333rd, with an average growth of 489 percent.

The highest ranked in the EMEA ranking is the Sibiu-based ITNT SRL (115th place) with an average growth of 1,433 percent, which has also ranked fourth in the Fast 50 competition.

For Teamnet International SA and Fortech this is the second edition in a row that they make it to the EMEA ranking.

“Achieving a ranking on this year’s list proves their commitment and drive to grow innovative companies – a difficult feat in the competitive and fast-moving technology environment. This is also a proof that they play global and measure their forces with impressive organizations from countries that have definitely access to much better resources,” said Alina Mirea, Deloitte Partner and local project leader. This year Romania has five more companies as compared to 2013.

French self-service, online ticketing solution company, WEEZEVENT tops Deloitte Technology Fast 500TM rankings for EMEA among the region’s 500 fastest growing companies. With over 37,000 event organizers already using its services, WEEZEVENT is an online event ticketing solution in France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium and Canada (Québec), offering event organizers a simple and seamless online platform to create their event ticket requirements. As a whole, the EMEA group had an average revenue growth rate of 1,700 percent, compared to 1,500 percent last year. With 86 companies present in the ranking, France also has the largest number of entries, followed by the UK with 67 companies and Benelux with 60.
