German industrial giant Siemens continues its development in Romania, finishing the extensions of two of the four plants locally operated by SIMEA Sibiu SRL, as digi24.ro informs. The two production units are located in Sibiu and Buzias, Timis County.

“Romania represents an interest point for companies with production activities based on the well-skilled workforce and competitive costs, but also the proximity to Western markets. The production expansion and the investments in research and development (R&D) area shows Siemens commitment for Romania, a contribution assumed 111 years ago,“ George Costache, CEO Siemens SRL said.

The factory in Sibiu inaugurated in 2004, it was relocated in July in a new building, located in the “Industrial Park Sibiu-West”. The 7,800 sqm industrial spaces and offices represent an area with 110 percent higher than that previously occupied by the production unit.

With this expansion, the production was developed to include also an electrostatic field powder painting for industrial and railway carcasses, already produced in the factory.

The relocated factory produces electric cables for industrial electronic devices and rolling material, lamina objects for industrial and railway cages, steel cages for railway engine, metros and other railway elements.

Earlier this month, there was opened the third hall of the Siemens factory in Buzias. The new hall has an area of about 1,200 square meters and represents an expansion of nearly 60 percent of the total area of the unit in Timis County, as well as a production development. Here, Siemens will produce synchronous engines for industrial machinery. It also makes components and cooling systems for linear engines types.

Siemens factory in Buzias manufactures components and cooling systems for Torque of linear motors, as well as asynchronous engines.
