The area of small entrepreneurs in Romania is, traditionally, an extremely dynamic one, with tens of thousands of Ltds being established every year. From the beginning of the year until now, more than 56,000 new SRLs have been registered, according to data published by the National Office of the Trade Register (ONRC), while the percentage of newly established companies in 2023 recruiting through bestjobs has reached 15%, increasing compared to the same period last year.
Most of the small companies that recruited in the first 8 months of this year through bestjobs are from cities such as: Bucharest, Cluj, Timișoara, Iași and Constanța. On average, a start-up is looking to fill between two and four positions, with the most hiring occurring among startups in areas such as services, transport, retail or logistics.
“These companies, which are just starting out, have a limited budget and are often pressed for time, so they are also the ones that need the right people the fastest. At the same time, the Romanian ecosystem of startups represents one of the main catalysts of innovation, having a significant impact on Romania’s economic growth. That’s why we, at bestjobs, want to encourage as much as possible the development of startups from the perspective of human resources. Thus, newly established companies that create an account on bestjobs receive our support for the first hire, being able to publish the first ad for free”, said Ana Vișian, Bestjobs Marketing Manager.
With the increase in the number of jobs put on the market by startups and small employers, the interest of candidates in them has also increased. Thus, in the first 8 months of the year, almost 500,000 applications for startup jobs/employers were registered, 10% more than in the same period last year.
“Salaries and benefits offered by startups are at a similar level to those offered by large companies, because most entrepreneurs are looking to recruit well-trained people with extensive experience in their field of activity to contribute to the rise of the company. Because these people usually come from large companies to leave their current job, a start-up must offer them salary and extra-salary benefits according to their training”, said Ana Vișian.
The sectors with the most newly established companies in the first 7 months, according to ONRC, are Wholesale and retail trade and Repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (16581), Transport and storage (9225), Construction (8978), Agriculture, forestry and fishing ( 8315), and Professional, scientific and technical activities (7917).
