Surplus of EUR 988 M in apparel and accessories trade at end-October

Romania exported clothing and accessories worth EUR 2,264 billion in the first 10 months of 2017, down by 6.1 percent compared to the similar period of 2016, according to data centralized by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

At the same time, imports of clothing and accessories amounted to EUR 1,275 billion, 13 percent higher than in the previous year, thus recording a surplus of EUR 988,4 billion on this segment.

Thus, at end-October, Romania’s FOB exports totaled EUR 52.361 billion, up 9.2 percent year on year, while CIF imports amounted to EUR 62.583 billion, up 12.4 percent.
