OMV Petrom announces the appointment of Sevil Shhaideh as interim member of the Supervisory Board of the company, as well as member of the Audit Committee and member of the Presidential and Nomination Committee of OMV Petrom, following Mihai Busuioc’s waiver of his mandate in the above mentioned positions.

 ”In accordance with article 1537 paragraph (1) of the Romanian company law no. 31/1990 and with art. 17.4 of OMV Petrom S.A.’s Articles of Association, Sevil Shhaideh was appointed as interim member of the Supervisory Board, member of the Audit Committee and member of the Presidential and Nomination Committee of OMV Petrom, starting with the date of the approval of her appointment by the Supervisory Board, namely 26 October 2017, and until the next General Meeting of Shareholders,” a report signed by Mariana Gheorghe, CEO and President of the Executive Board of OMV Petrom, sent to Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) reads.

Shhaideh‘s nomination comes from the state, Sevil Shhaidehwhich still holds 20 percent of the oil company’s capital.

From Petrom, Shhaideh (photowill receive a net remuneration of EUR 20,000 per year – as a member of the Supervisory Board, a net remuneration per session of EUR 4,000 – as a member of the Audit Committee and a gross remuneration per session, corresponding to a net remuneration of EUR 2,000 – as a member of the Presidential and Nomination Committee of OMV Petrom.

Sevil Shhaideh graduated the Faculty of Economic Planning and Cybernetics within the Academy of Economic Sciences from Bucharest and earned a master’s degree in the Management of Business Projects from Ovidius University, Constanta.

Moreover, she is specialized in various fields such as project management, expert in public administration and auditor in quality management and financial audit.

Sevil Shhaideh has 20 years of experience as public servant within local public administration.

Starting with 2012, she held various positions within the Romanian Government, such as State Secretary and Minister within the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration and Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development, Public Administration and European Funds, having as main responsibilities regional development, European projects management and public administration activities.

Former Deputy Prime Minister, Sevil Shhaideh was criminally prosecuted by the National Anti-corruption Directorate for abuse of office in a corruption file, with deeds referring to the time when she used to be secretary of state within the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration.

The file regards the illegal transfer of Belina Island and Pavel channel on the Danube River in the administration of the Teleorman County Council, run at that time by the SocDem chairman Liviu Dragnea.
