Romanian air carrier Tarom will reduce its losses this year to RON 49 million, from 110 million in 2014, and takes into account the efficiency of establishment plan by reducing staff, a decision in this regard is expected next year.

“As factors for improving results, we had a higher utilization rate of the fleet, which means that depreciation related to aircraft costs are divided over several hours,” CEO of Tarom, Christian Heinzmann, said, mediafax.ro informs.

He added that Tarom’s turnover will reach this year to EUR 300 million and the revenues will be close to that of expenditure in 2016. The company is going to record an operating profit in 2017 at the latest.

According to Heinzmann, Tarom has about 2,000 employees, just as many they were when the company operated 60 aircrafts, this is why the Romanian air carrier is considering staff reduction.
