Tarom and El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. have signed a codeshare commercial agreement, which provides that passengers of the two companies can benefit from the opportunity to travel on any of the 18 weekly flights operated in partnership on the Bucharest – Tel Aviv – Bucharest route.

The agreement was signed by the two CEOs of the partner companies, at El Al’s headquarters in Tel Aviv, in the presence of the Romanian ambassador to Tel Aviv, Radu Ioanid.

“This codeshare commercial partnership, which will start in April 2025, offers passengers from Romania and Israel expanded access to the combined route networks of TAROM and EL AL. Tarom and El Al passengers will benefit from the opportunity to travel on any of the 18 weekly flights operated in partnership on the Bucharest – Tel Aviv – Bucharest route. Additionally, the Tarom – El Al collaboration will facilitate access to numerous domestic and international destinations operated in codeshare partnership by the two companies. This codeshare agreement is a first step within the expanded Tarom – El Al commercial collaboration and in the future we are considering developing the partnership to new destinations”, stated Tarom’s General Manager, Costin Iordache, according to a press release.

The codeshare flights will be available to travelers starting April 1, 2025.
“The new agreement with Tarom is another important step in implementing our route network expansion strategy from Tel Aviv. We strive to cooperate with the most important airlines around the world and increase our flight options to diverse and popular destinations. Thanks to this partnership, our customers will benefit from greater accessibility and an improved travel experience to Bucharest and beyond,” said Dina Ben Tal Ganancia, CEO of El Al.
Initiated three years ago, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Tarom – El Al partnership has been strengthened through rigorous audits and checks, which confirmed compliance with the highest standards of safety and quality of passenger services, notes the cited source. Through the current partnership with the Israeli air operator, Tarom assumes a strategic role in connecting the European Union (EU) with the Middle East and Asia.
