It’s Romania’s turn to benefit from Taxify’s ride booking app advantages, available for smartphones with iOS or Android systems, starting last week. A press release informs that once installed, the Estonian startup’s app can be used both in Bucharest, as well as in any other city in the world where Taxify is available.
“With Taxify you get ease of mind and no more surge pricing – be it you go out and party or you need a quick ride to the office, Taxify will find you a ride in seconds, with a fixed price per kilometer no matter how far the car is from your address. Also, no more cash worries: you pay in the app, by registering a debit or credit card. The safety of our clients is our primary concern, therefore all the drivers from Taxify are carefully verified, and the app shows details about every car and driver,” the release reads.
According to Taxify’s officials, the app is the leading transport app in 15 markets in Europe and Africa, with over 600.000 clients.
“Unlike some other apps we believe that treating drivers better also makes the service better for customers. We are paying our drivers the best and giving them more freedom, so they would also treat our customers better. Romania is one of the biggest markets in Europe and we see that there is big potential to bring a better transport service to the market – cheaper for customers and drivers,” Markus Vilig, CEO Taxify stated.
Estonian startup promises to help the taxi drivers to compete with the controversial application for smartphone Uber.
The company operates a platform through which users can call a taxi or a private driver and choose between paying cash or by card online. Taxify cooperate both with local taxi firms and private drivers (ridesharing) following Uber model.
Taxify was launched in 2013 and is headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia. Riders can book taxis either via its iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone app or its website.
