Taxify is hiring software, data engineers in Bucharest

Taxify will start recruiting 50 employees for the Bucharest team in the upcoming six months, with the most needed positions going for software and data engineers, according to a company’s press release. The team in Bucharest will be an independent development unit which will be focused on Taxify’s main fields of activity such as mapping algorithms, maps, geolocation and data science.

The office in Bucharest, located in Eroilor area, will be a software engineering center, with the potential of becoming one of the largest Taxify headquarters in the world, the press release also informs.

According to Rain Johanson, Taxify Head of Engineering, maps represent one of the most important features which are visualized in the ride-hailing apps, as 95% of the experience for the final user is dictated by maps. He stated that it’s important the company has the best people in the world working on this aspect. „In this regard, Bucharest is a true European technological center,” he added.

Taxify became operational in Bucharest in August 2016.
