Wizz Air has announced on Thursday the opening of the first direct flight from Romania to Georgia. The new low cost flight will link Bucharest to Kutaisi and will start operating as of July 3, with prices starting from RON 109. There will be three flights a week, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Tickets can be already booked at wizzair.com.
So, travellers in search of breathtaking fairytale-like landscapes, with outspread vineyard, millenary churches and hidden streets should choose Georgia for their next trip. The city of Kutaisi is one of the oldest in the world, hosting the famous Gelati monastery or the Bagrati cathedral, both being UNESCO world heritage sites. Kutaisi is Georgia’s entrace gate, boasting an iconic footpath cobweb, perfect for backpacking and bike rides, ski slopes or rafting and riding spots.
„We are delighted to announce today a new Wizz route from Bucharest to Kutaisi, Georgia. Romanian travellers can now reach one of the oldest cities in Europe in just several hours and can visit Georgia within a city break or for business, with prices starting from RON 109. This is the only direct connection from Romania to Georgia and we expect it to boost bilateral tourism and to encourage business ties between the two countries,” said Sorina Ratz, interim Wizz Air Head of Corporate Communications.
Wizz Air will launch 19 new flights in Romania this year, to provide new travel opportunities from Sibiu, Iasi, Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest.
