The Steel Plant of Galati will hire this year over 200 workers through the Apprenticeship School, which reached its sixth edition. In 2019 the Apprenticeship Program was updated and now has 3 recruitment campaigns in April, August and November.
“We will basically recruit continuously. We are preparing the development projects in the coming period. We want workers willing to learn, to develop professionally – individually and in teams – and who can work hard and safely”, said Bogdan Grecu, the Chief Executive Officer of the Steel Plant.
“Through the School of Apprentices, we are offering the opportunity of a solid and long – lasting career in a constantly developing environment for high – school graduates and professional schools, as well as for experienced people”, said in her turn Mihaela Crăciun, Head of Human Resources Department of the Steel Plant.
Many of the apprentices of the first wave of 2019 were recruited as a result of the “Re-Discover the Steel Plant” event, through which the attendees visited key equipment and discussed with the steelworkers.
Arcelor Mittal Galati is preparing the “Open Doors Week for Education” event, through which the students from technical high schools can get information about the steel industry and the apprenticeship offer. The company deepened its partnerships with “Paul Dimo” High School – Galati and “Costache Conachi” High School in Pechea, with local professional schools as well as with our collaborator, the County Agency for Employment Galati.
The Apprenticeship School of the Steel Plant has trained around 500 workers so far.
