The Ministry of Energy will propose the repeal through an emergency ordinance of the “solar tax” for prosumers, Sebastian Burduja, the responsible minister, said on Monday. This after the European Commission replied that each country can decide whether or not to introduce this tax.
“The Ministry of Energy supports the elimination of the tax on the sun. Besides, we also have the formal response from the European Commission, which allows us to repeal that article,” said Burduja.
According to him, the European Commission stated that it is a clause of the “may” type, meaning that each country decides whether to implement it or not. “We will repeal it by emergency ordinance,” added Burduja.
