Timisoara-Belgrade highway topic tackled by Romanian, Serbian premiers

On Tuesday, the Romanian premier Victor Ponta and his Serbian counterpart reloaded the topic of Timisoara-Belgrade joint project. The two governments pledged to undergo a feasibility study and to find the funds for this project, the Serbian Cabinet informed, as quoted by Agerpres.

Victor Ponta and Aleksandar Vucic also discussed the possibility of cooperation on the trans-Balkan pipeline between Pancevo and Resita, which aims at ensuring the energy stability for both countries. The issue of a gas pipeline linking the two countries was also tackled.

Ponta met his Serbian counterpart in Belgrade where he attended the third China-Eastern European countries Summit.

Due to PM Ponta’s presence in Belgrade, the new Romanian Gov’t swearing-in ceremony was cancelled Tuesday evening, being rescheduled for Wednesday morning at 9 a.m.
