Top most wanted employers in Romania

Multinational companies top the ranking of the most wanted employers in Romania, with the first ten positions being occupied by such employers as Oracle, Continental România, Microsoft, IBM, Amazon, OMV Petrom, Grup Renault România, Vodafone, Google şi Bosch România, according to a study by Catalyst Solutions.

Employers activating in the IT, Automotive, Finance, Banking, Telecom or FMCG industries are among the strongest 20 brands nominated by the respondents as top 3 employers for which they would work.

The study has been conducted countrywide, based on 12,567 free answers, during May-June this year.

What do employees look for when seeking a job? The salary package still ranks first, both in terms of income and benefits (81%), while the safety of the workplace ranks second (67%).

However, a growing demand is represented by the flexibility of the job, which comes third among the job seekers’ expectations (60%). Other important criteria relate to the pleasant work environment and the availability of the managers to encourage and support the professional development.

Where do job seekers look for information related to the career opportunities? Mainly on the company’s career website page (72%). Employees themselves rank second (67%), and job websites come third (60%). Candidates also look for jobs among their relatives and colleagues, on LinkedIn and at career fairs, but important sources of information can also be the companies’ Facebook pages, professional online communities and webinars and newsletters.

The results of the study concludes that online continues to be a vital communication channel to inform and lure job seekers, but direct, informal networking with the employers provides them with a higher level of trust.
