The Board of Directors of the state-owned company Transgaz convened an extraordinary general meeting on April 9, the main item on the agenda being the approval of the acquisition of a 51% stake in Petrostar SA, headquartered in Ploiești, Prahova. The maximum price for the purchase of the shares is 4.5 million lei. Transgaz is the national gas transmission company. According to public data, it is an engineering and technical consulting company.
According to data on Termene.ro, the sole shareholder is an association of individuals. One of those who owns shares is the USR de Prahova deputy George Nicolae Marussi, who is also a partner and administrator. Marussi is currently a deputy, and in the period 2016-2020 he was a senator. In his declaration of interests, he shows that he owns 2071 shares worth 163 thousand lei. The declaration of interests also lists his capacity as chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrostar SA.
The company’s director since 2000 is Daniel Rucăreanu. Petrostar SA is a shareholder in another engineering company from Prahova, Geopetrol SA, which in 2023 recorded a loss of 373 thousand lei.
